"Triple M's Unsigned"

HEY GUYS!

Our song “Wide Awake and Smiling” is up as a contender FOR THE SECOND NIGHT IN A ROW for Triple M’s Unsigned on Ugly Phil’s night show on Triple M Melbourne & Sydney. (tonight December 15th)!!

We are doing a phone interview & then they play Wide Awake & Smiling in full. They’ll ask listeners to vote via SMS 1999 1049 (55 cents per text ONLY one text per mobile is counted) their favourite. Text “ellington”.

10 minutes later the votes are tallied & a Champion is declared. That band gets their song played in full again the next night (No need for another interview) & til such time as they lose the battle.

So make sure you are up tomorrow night Melbourne & Sydney and get voting!!!!

We played our last show for 2009 at The Princess Theatre. Had an amazing pre show BBQ and Beers and it was a really good way to finish the year on a high! VERY excited for 2010 and whatever it may bring! We’re taking this time to rehearse with our new drummer, recording some band new demos and finishing up writing for the album. Hopefully the new year involves a lot of travel, a debut ellington album and seeing all of your faces at our shows! We’ll leave new years resolutions for another blog but i just wanted to say thank you to everyone for the amazing year, we have been through a lot and it’s made us stronger for 2010. The list of people we need to thank is huge but you know who oyu are and we hope you know how much we appreciate you! How was your year!?

We played a festival in Brisbane over the weekend called Stuff The Stocking, awesome festival to help out homeless kids etc! Had fun playing an acoustic set and thanks to everyone for coming out! Dont forget to get your tickets for the December 12th show!!

So im sure you guys have seen (if you follow us on twitter) pictures of what Michael did to his fingers last weekend. Basically he can’t play guitar for like 3-4 weeks because they are cut pretty bad. This has kinda forced us to change our plans for our set at Stuff The Stocking this weekend! It looks like, at this stage we will be doing the show acoustically. Hopefully Mick gets better soon…

On a better note, this weekend we are also heading into the studio again to record another brand new song titled, Our Summer Party. Can’t wait :)

Spent the day on the water today! Wake-boarding etc. It was amazing and just what i needed..

I have been spending a bunch of time at home lately trying to write some new songs and wind down a little until Christmas. We haven’t been busy touring lately but we have been busy recording and writing for a debut album. When will we head off and record it? Well i wish we had already done it but…We WILL get our butts back to the states early in the year to get it done, we have been waiting around a little too much for certain things and now we are finally a little tired of that wait so we are moving on…you guys probs don’t understand ha i wish i could explain in more detail! Hang tight and we will bring you some new music, new tours and a whole bunch of exciting stuff soon! Very excited for 2010!

Hey - I’ve been writing a bunch of songs. Here is one for you guys to have a read over!

Humiliation got the best of me, i put it down to lack of attention or the fact that i could barely breathe. I thought you were just like me! Yeah, you’re bold when you’re alone but in public as shy as anyone could be.

And the best night of my whole life was the night that i was in your room and you told me that you need me to be the best that i can be for you!

Haven’t you heard he’s a rockstar? Breaking your heart is what everybody knows him for! He wears a mask when he shouldn’t even need a disguise. You’ll cross you’re heart and hope to die the minute he’s in your life.

Oh no! I’ll drive alone to the next show, I’ll break her heart like countless others and she’ll never know. Kick start my heart, i wanna feel your skin all night, last summers sin. I cant believe the way that i was turned out the way that i am. Sometimes the way that we were is proof we can.

I took a look at her picture, oh god i wish i was with her.
